How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do you create them perfectly? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

We should first know that eggs are very temperamental ingredients when making omelets. The eggs must be fresh from an organic source and kept at room temperature until they are ready to be cooked. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

You could end up burning the bottom half of the egg if the egg is added directly to the heat source. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The microwave heat cooks your egg just right, without it becoming too soft.

Next, let us talk about how to mix the eggs. Mixing eggs together is important. You need to beat them well. To do this, grab the bowl of the mixer and turn it upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. You don't need to worry if streaks remain. They will disappear once you flip your omelet.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. A pinch of salt will help prevent the omelet from sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet has formed completely, cover the pan and let it set for a few minutes. Flip the omelet upside down or with a spatula. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Take the omelet out of the pan and immediately serve.

This recipe is best made with whole milk. However, it can also be used with skimmed milk.
